Papers in MEO class 4

MEO class 4 exam is divided into two parts.

Part - A

Part - B

Let discuss each topic separately.

Part - A

Contains 4 papers. And all the 4 are written papers.
1. Applied Mechanics
2. Engineering Drawing
3. Heat Engines
4. Mathematics

All candidates who complete 4 years engineering course in a DG approved college can get the exemption from appearing MEO class 4 Part -A. That is simply called as Part A exemption, from your respective MMD.

All candidate other than 4 years engineering course must clear MEO class 4 Part A exams in MMD.

Part - B

Contains 6 written papers and 4 oral papers. Total of 10 papers.

Written papers as follow:
1. Marine Electro Technology
2. Marine Engineering knowledge ( MOTOR/ STEAM )
3. Marine Engineering Knowledge ( GENERAL )
4. Marine Engineering Practise
5. Ship Construction and Stability
6. Ship Safety and Environmental Protect.

Oral papers as follow:
1. COSCPOOL
2.EECEOL
3. MEOL (M/S)
4. MROL

COSCPOOL - Controlling Operation of Ship and Care for Personal Onboard at Operational Level
EECEOL - Electrical Electronics and Control Engineering at Operational Level
MEOL - Marine Engineering at Operational Level
MROL -  Maintenance and Repair at Operational Level

These papers are identified by functions.

FUNCTION 3 -  COSCPOOL -  Simply called as Safety paper
FUNCTION 4B - MEOL - Based on Main Engines and propulsion.
FUNCTION 5 - EECEOL -  Simply called as Electrical paper
FUNCTION 6 - MROL  - all Auxiliary machines.
